FAQs
Q: How is nuclear science engineering different from all other fields of engineering?
A: Arguably, nuclear science is distinguishable from all the other fields. The energy is created by the reaction originating from the nucleus containing protons and neutrons through fission and fusion and not in the form of molecules or atoms which is very nuclear in nature. The energy that is produced is million times more powerful that those which are produced by other chemical reactions.
Q: Can working with all these radioactive materials be dangerous?
A: Every field of work is dangerous if not careful enough. Yes, radiation can be hazardous to human health, in fact it is one of the core subject taught in this course. But with knowledge of proper science and practice this can be avoided. We can also shield our body so it doesn’t get exposed to the radiation and since change in environment, our b0dy has also changed with resistance to mild radiation, but we should still respect it.
