FAQs
Question: Where petroleum engineers work?
Answer: The initial step is the discovery of the source, for the location. Once discovered, the petroleum engineers work, analyze to understand the geologic formation of the reservoir. After the examination and analysis of the rock containing the reservoir, further, the drilling methods are determined, monitored for the extraction operations.
Question: Will there be scope for the petroleum engineers in the coming future?
Answer: The fall of the oil price is by political reasons rather than economic factors. There is downfall under the low price, for which many of the projects suffer the loss. Well, the demand for engineers will be there in the long run. This is so because as compared to other energy resources, petroleum products are cheaper, safer and more feasible than oil and gas. Shale gas, tight oil, and methane hydrate etc, could well sustain the energy demand for the next upcoming few decades.
