The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has released the notification regarding the academic session 2020-21 for Super Speciality and Undergraduate medical courses, concerning the consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC). As per the notice, the academic session for (D.M/ M.Ch & DNB SS) courses is going to start from 19th January 2021, where the session for MBBS/BDS courses of 2020-21 will start from 2nd February 2021.
The counseling process of the undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS will be conducted based on marks obtained by the candidate in the NEET exam. MCC is conducting the counseling drive for the undergraduate courses to get admission into MBBS and BDS courses. Aspirants who have qualified for the NEET 2020 UG and SS examination, by satisfying the required cutoff can attend the counseling session. The seats will be available on the basis of rank, choice filled, seat availability, reservation criteria, and some other factors.
On the basis of NEET SS 2020, the admission process is going to be conducted in 31 super specialty courses offered in 156 government/private/deemed/central and AFMC institutes and there have been 80,055 MBBS seats and 26,949 BDS seats are granted.
The notice further adds that “This issues with the approval of competent authority for the information and further necessary action of colleges and candidates.” So now, the aspirants who will be allotted any MBBS/BDS or SS seats can start their academics from the specified date.
