Telangana Government has endorsed the seat reservation plan of the union government for medical & dental college admissions. As per the reservation plan, 10% of seats of government medical and dental colleges will be reserved for Economically Weaker Sections of the General category. The EWS quota will be issued from the academic year 2019-20.
As the government order states, "These reservations will be implemented from specially sanctioned seats for implementation of EWS reservations, which are exclusively permitted for implementation of EWS reservations by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India/Ministry of Health Government of India in specified government colleges."
The health, medical & family welfare department has issued an order as per which the EWS quota reservation will act as an addition to the SC, ST & OBC candidates. In order to take admission under this quota, the candidates have to submit the income & asset certificates to the verifying officials during the document verification process. Otherwise, the claim for the reservation will not be considered.
