The Odisha Private Engineering College Association(OPECA) urged Chief Minister of Odish to admission of 12th students in diploma and Engineering Institute on the Basis of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Electronics (PCME) Marks. Its due to the COVID-19 pandemic where the less time is available to conduct JEE and OJEE tests.
As less time is available to conduct JEE exam to be held on may and OJEE to be held on may are postponed day by day. so the admission of eligible students to diploma and engineering colleges for 2020-21 academic section be allowed on the basic on PCME marks which must above or equal to 45% of the total marks of 400, He also suggested that 50% seat should be reserve d for students from Odisha and the balance be allowed for admission from across the country based on the PCME marks.
Odisha having much more seat available for the engineering and diploma students. most of the time the collage sits cant fill all. so it been not a hard task to provides seats for the eligible students. OPECA Secretary Binod Dash said"The move is highly necessary as Odisha has much more seats than the number of students appear the exam every year".
