Admission Process
Admission procedure for post graduation course in Psychiatry is done on the basis of Merit secured in the qualifying examination. The minimum eligibility criterion for admission is qualifying B.Sc. in Psychiatry with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks and above from a recognized university which is followed by counseling by universities and institutions. Furthermore, candidates must pass the various entrance examination held by different universities and institutions. However, the eligibility criteria may differ based on the norms prescribed by colleges. The merit percentage is calculated adding the cumulative marks secured in qualifying exam and entrance exam held by respective colleges.
Admission in MD Psychiatry Courses
Admission to the course at the top institutes in India is based on the candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance exam, such as the national-level National Eligibility Cum entrance test (NEET), or AIIMS. Rounds of group discussion and personal interview follow, based on performance in which, admission is granted to qualifying candidates.
