AIIMS MBBS result will be declared by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi today in the online mode. AIIMS MBBS 2019 entrance exam was conducted on May 25 and 26, 2019. AIIMS result is going to be released in the format of a merit list and individual scores.
Also, the individual scorecard which is going to be released will fetch important information like:
- Name
- Overall scores
- Subject-wise percentile score
- Rank and qualifying status of the candidate.
Each candidate has to meet the minimum cutoff percentile to qualify. This is released along with the result. Those who will qualify will thus become eligible to participate in the counseling process.
How the percentile score is determined?
The process is for each subject in the paper, a percentile score is calculated in AIIMS result. Based on a few other points like the marking scheme, the scores obtained are the raw score which is then utilized to regulate the percentage score and percentile. Percentile scores are based on the relative scores of all those who appeared in the examination. The percentile scores are then calculated up to seven decimal places to reduce the chances of a tie between two or more candidates.
Merit list:
Additional to the result an overall merit list, rank wise and roll number wise is also going to be released. This will contain the all India rank, percentile scores, subject-wise scores.
The percentile score and for the total marks in both the shifts are merged and arranged accordingly to compile an overall merit list.
When there is the case of two or more candidates who have exact same total percentile, then a tie-breaking tool is applied to decide which candidate gets the higher rank. Higher percentile in Biology, Higher percentile in Chemistry, a higher percentile in Physics or a higher percentile in General Knowledge is considered. If neither of these factors helps in the resolution of a tie then the candidate who is older by age is given the higher rank.
