According to the West Bengal government, all arrangements were made for the students who will sit for JEE Mains 2020. However, it has been found that 75 percent of students could not attend the exam. Due to the pandemic situation, the turn-up of students was 1167 when 4652 was the number of candidates scheduled to sit for the exam.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that due to the pandemic the students were unable to turn up at the exam centers. She also mentioned that the same trend was found in the other states too. She had requested the Centre to not conduct the JEE exam in the middle of the pandemic.
