Exam pattern: XAT 2017

Admit cards for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) has been released on the official website. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 8, 2017. The XAT score is considered for admission by more than 150 B-schools across India.

Paper Pattern for XAT 2017:

·         The test will be of 3 1/2 hours (10:00am to 1:30pm).

·         It will have four sections:

o    Quantitative Ability

o    English Language & Logical Reasoning

o    Decision Making

o    GK

o    Essay

All questions carry equal marks. One fourth of a mark may be deducted for each incorrect answer. Leaving a question un- attempted may result in a deduction of 0.05 marks. However, this deduction will not apply for a maximum of 12 un-attempted questions. The negative marks for un-attempted questions shall be deducted proportionately across the three sections.

In comparison to previous year, the number of questions from each section has reduced by two. Last year, the number of sectional questions was 26, 23 and 29 for Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation sections respectively.

Selection procedure:

The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the cut-offs set by each institute. The shortlisted candidates will then be asked to appear for a group discussion, written ability test and personal interview rounds.
