About LAWCET And PGLCET:
  • Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) and Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (PGLCET) are conducted by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Hyderabad.
  • APSCHE is conducting two separate tests for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses.
  • Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) is for admission into three year and five year LL.B/B.L. courses and Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (PGLCET) is for admission into LL.M. course offered by state universities in Andhra Pradesh including their affiliated colleges.
  • The law common entrance test and its admissions will be made strictly compliance of the rules and regulations of the university concerned, BCI, APSCHE and relevant G.O.s of A.P that are in force and also amendments that may come into force from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria forLAWCET and PGLCET:
  • For 3 year LL.B / B.L. course: The candidates for 3 year LL.B. / B.L. should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned.
  • For 5 year LL.B./B.L. course: The candidates for 5 year LL.B. / B.L. should have passed two year intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the university concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.
  • For LLM: Candidate holding LL.B/B.L. degree and candidates who have appeared/appearing for LL.B/B.L., final year examination.
  • Age limit is not prescribed for admission into LL.M course

How to Apply for LAWCET and PGLCET2013:
  • Interested candidates may obtain application form with instructions booklet in person on payment of Rs. 250/- in cash from
  • All head post offices and university post offices
  • designated axis bank branches for LAWCET-2016 and  on submission of demand draft of Rs. 500/- for PGLCET-2016 and Rs.250/-for LAWCET from university colleges of law in Andhra Pradesh.
  • The amount of demand draft will be Rs. 250/- for LAWCET and Rs. 500/- for PGLCET drawn in favor of the “Secretary, APSCHE, Hyderabad payable at Hyderabad “ from any nationalized bank.
  • Application forms can also be downloaded from the website www.aplawcet.org. The filled in downloaded application has to be submitted along with necessary DD.
  • Filled in application forms should be submitted to “The Convener, LAWCET/PGLCET-2016, 1st floor, Old MBA Building, S.V. University, Tirupati-517502, A.P.” either in person or by speed/registered post only on or before the stipulated dates. Application can also be submitted online.
 
Paper Pattern for LAWCET and PGLCET2016:
  • The entrance test consists of three sections and the total number of questions will be 120.
  • The duration of test is 90 minutes.
  • Maximum marks are 120.
  • Section-A: consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks and the questions will be from general knowledge and mental ability.
  • Section-B: consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks and the questions will be from current affairs.
  • Section-C: consists of 60 question carrying 60 marks and the questions will be from aptitude for the study of law
  • The questions in Section-C, aptitude for the study of law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the law and constitution of India on the part of the student is assumed.
  • The questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.
  • There is no negative mark for incorrect answers
  • The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.

  • The entrance test consists of two sections and the total number of questions will be 120.
  • The duration of test is 90 minutes.
  • Maximum marks are 120.
  • Section-A consists of 40 questions carrying 40 marks in which 20 questions will be from Jurisprudence and 20 questions will be from constitutional law.
  • Section-B consists of 80 questions carrying 80 marks and there will be 16 questions from each topic such as public international law, mercantile law, labor law, crimes and torts and IPR & other laws.
  • There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.
  • The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu.
