Environmental Engineering

Environmental engineering is the integration of sciences and engineering principles to improve the natural environment, to provide healthy water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to clean up pollution sites.
Through increased use of chemicals in industry and agricultural, the environment has become severely polluted. Skilled professionals in this field are called as environmental engineers.
They are concerned with nationwide and worldwide environmental issues.
They study and try to reduce the effects of ozone depletion, global warming, automobile emissions and acid rain.
They are also concerned in the protection of wildlife.
Environmental engineers and scientists are playing a major role in protecting the environment.
Many environmental scientists and biologists are being employed in textile mills, refineries, fertilizer plants, food processing, distilleries, mines and other industries in order to for monitoring the levels of pollution. Even NGO’s are employing a large number of environmentalists.  
The industries have become more conscious about the environmental issues and henceforth want to manage their resources in a better way.  
Eligibility :
UG: 4 years
For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the intermediate in science(10+2)  examination with science subject such as biology, math and chemistry. For IITs, It is mandatory to clears JEE - Advance. The duration for the course is 4 years.
PG: 2 years
For admission in a master’s degree, the candidate must have passed bachelor's degree in (B.E/B.Tech) or any other equivalent branches of engineering.

Remuneration: - 
Candidates after completion of their course in B.E/ B.Tech in environmental engineering can earn their initial salary around Rs. 15,000 - Rs.30,000 every month. Candidates with a postgraduate degree can earn initially within the range of Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 50,000 and those with a Ph.D degree can earn in between Rs. 50,000 - Rs. 75,000. A licensed engineer can expect a salary of Rs.1 lakh per month. MNCs operating on environment projects offer lucrative pay packages and perks to environmental engineers. Scientists who are working in government sector can start earning in the range of Rs. 12,000 to Rs 18,000 per month.
