Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) 2020, Conducting Authorities have been requested to postpone the exam of 19th August 2020. A PIL (Public Interest Litigation) has been filed challenging the decision of conducting the examination during this COVID 19 pandemic period. The Karnataka based advocate Abdulla Mannan Khan who has filed the PIL, claims that the examination will create a catastrophic atmosphere during this epidemic period.
In the plea, Mr Khan tells the High Court of Karnataka about how students will fail or lose their chances of attending the exam due to the lockdown enforced nationwide by the Government of India. Transportation will be a major problem for the students belonging to the containment zones or areas where lockdown has been issued. He confirmed that the future of the students will not be affected if the COMEDK UGET is withheld until other national level entrance exams.

Karnataka Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Karnataka Examination Authority has issued "Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)" on July 29. It states the guidelines for conducting the examination during COVID-19 pandemic. This SOP was meant for KCET 2020 exam held on July 30 and 31. According to Mr Khan, the SOP was a disaster. On a number of occasions, the SOP failed due to its loopholes. At the KCET exam centres, social distancing was rarely maintained, which brought in a lot of negative remarks against the conducting authorities.
Many students have supported the plea to postpone the exam in the twitter social media with the #postponecomedk2020. If Karnataka High Court accepts the plea and holds it true to its cause then, both COMEDK UGET and Uni-GAUGE exams will be postponed.
