IIT Madras provides very good hostel accommodation to its students. There are 19 hostels altogether that is more than enough to accommodate all their students. The hostels are named after various rivers of India. Out of 19, 4 hostels are for girls and 15 are for the boys. The hostel provides facilities like gardening, sports facilities, music room, TV room, tech rooms and many more. The students are encouraged to celebrate festivals like Holi and Diwali in full spirit. Every hostel has a warden who is a faculty of the college. The administration of the hostel is facilitated by the hostel administration center. The hostels are very harmonious to live in. Library

The central library of IIT Madras is one of the biggest attractions for the students. The library provides several books of various subjects that the students can hire any time.
