St Xavier' s College

The Placement Cell of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata creates a platform where students can showcase their talents which different companies seek to explore and utilise. Starting in 2003, we have successfully placed a large section of graduates who have appeared for placements. This year especially, the performance has been overwhelming. The Placement Cell is headed by Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio - SJ, and Dr. M. Hanifis the coordinator. The Cell is led by the Placement officer Mr. Niladri Sinha along with the Placement Advisory Board which consists of Professors and final year students from various departments. Initially, the companies are invited to take part in the recruitment drive. Those interested respond and thus register with us for the year for recruitment. The students are intimated and a vast number register for the interview. The interview process usually starts with a PowerPoint Presentation where the company enlightens the students about their company profile. Those interested then go for the interview, which usually comprises of a written test followed by group discussion and personal interview. The job scenario today is facing the onslaught of groundbreaking competition from all fields, and employment into good companies and organizations has become a daunting task. So, for the benefit of its students preparing to face the job market, the St. Xavier's College Placement Cell has risen to the occasion and has successfully aided in providing opportunities and employment to its outgoing students. With the relentless support of the staff and the students associated with the placement cell and most significantly Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, S.J. at the helm, we strive to reach a step closer to our ultimate goal of 100% placements for our students.

Father Leeming Boys' Hostel accommodates the male students of St Xavier's College, Kolkata, only. It is under the management of the College. The Superintendent is directly responsible to the Principal of the College and stands in Loco Parentis to all the borders. The provision for staying in the Hostel is for one year only. A student who fails without genuine reason to attend his classes will be asked to leave the Hostel. A student who accumulates more than three arrears in an academic year is liable not to be taken back in the Hostel the following year. This hostel accepts an application for accommodation from the students of the first year only. Mother Teresa Girls' Hostel is for the female students of St Xavier's College, Kolkata, only. It is under the management of the College. The Superintendent is directly responsible to the Principal of the College and stands in Loco Parentis to all the borders.
