Dr. D.Y.Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute started in the year of 2004, is a constituent unit of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth which is Re-Accredited by NAAC with 'A' grade. DYPBBI is well adapted to the interdisciplinary mode of biotechnology research needed for such goals. The academic and research units at DYPBBI have clear objectives and goals. The institute has separate well-equipped laboratories of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Plant and Animal Tissue Culture with highly qualified faculty. DYPBBI is extensively used for intensive research by the hosts and neighboring and national institutions for research collaborations. DYPBBI is also a major stakeholder in human resource development.
