Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam is one among the oldest medical colleges in India, First in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Ever since the college came into being in 1923. The college began to acquire National attention as a center of higher learning in medical education. Under the first principalship of Captain F.J. Anderson 32 students were admitted as the first batch of Medical School, affiliated to Madras University and under the current principal Dr. C.V. Rao There AMC is admitting 150 Undergraduate students, 164 Postgraduate students, and 8 Super specialty students along with many paramedical courses under NTR Health University. The students of AMC were not only good at academics but also excelled themselves in sports and cultural activities. The college has always shown the strong patriotic spirit since the days of independence and participated in many a struggles to achieve pride and freedom. In the true spirit of the Hippocratic oath, the medical faculty of Andhra Medical College and K. G.H always dedicate themselves to the expectations of the poor and needy where ever they are.
