AIIMS Kalyani was established on National Highway – 34 around 50 km from Kolkata under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), by Union Cabinet. The Institute is spread over around 180 acres in areas. It was established by the central Goverment. The aim of the institute is to devlope the parten of teaching in medical education to provide a high standard of medical education to all medical colleges. The institute is facilited with 960 bedded hospital equipped with all modern facilities. The Institute is set up to adress at three levels, regional, specialties, and ratio of medical doctors to nurses and other healthcare professionals. The Institute provides central facilities like medical education unit, hostel facility, IT section, Finance section and transport facility.
