JEE Main 2019: General Strike on January 8, 9 likely to hit JEE Aspirants
KOCHI: There is a two-day nationwide general strike on Jan 8thand 9th, 2019 called by the central trade unions which will hit thousand of JEE Mains students exam which was scheduled to be conducted in the 2nd week of January 2019.
This year the JEE (Main) will be conducted twice before the admissions. The online will be done January month and the offline test will be conducted in the month of April.
Students who are going to give the exam in the month of January on date Jan 8th and 9th would obviously face problem to reach the venue for the exam centre, as the transport facilities including road and rail would be affected.
NTA Director Vineet Joshi said that, as of now, they have no plans to reschedule the exams. However, they would be conducting a meeting to discuss the matter.
On the other side, Trade unions said that they were not aware of the entrance exams slotted for those dates.
INTUC state president R.Chandrasekharan said that This was a nation-wide strike which was announced too early and then no one had approached them with the representations and hence it Is not possible for them to postpone the dates.
Because of this strike Students are worried about the change in the exam schedule and also where the dates have been advanced. Also, parents are mostly worried because of the strike, transport would be a huge problem as the strike would go on for two days.
