NEET PG : Rank, Cut Off and Reservation Criteria

    National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation (NEET PG) is the single entrance exam for admissions to various MD, MS and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will declare the NEET PG 2020 cut off online just after the releasing of the result by January 31. NBA, the regulatory body of NEET PG exam will inform the candidates about the NEET PG 2020 cut off with an official notice.

    Though NEET PG 2020 cut off is already available in percentile mode, the equivalent marks to the cutoff percentile can only be specified after the declaration of result. Securing the marks equal to NEET PG cut off 2020 means the candidate has qualified the exam and is eligible to participate in the counseling process.

    Factors Influencing NEET PG Cut Off 2020

    The NEET PG Cut Off is largely dependent on the corresponding marks to the qualifying percentile, the number of aspirants who appeared in the exam and the relative performance of all the test takers.

    1- Difficulty level of the exam

    2- Total number of aspirants appeared in the exam

    3- Total number of seats available


    Revision of NEET PG Cut off 2020

    If the number of candidates qualified the NEET PG 2020 fall below the number required in a specific category, in that situation the Central Government in consultation with the Medical Council of India can reduce the NEET PG 2020 cut off. The revision situation arises in case where the required numbers of candidates are not able to qualify as compared to the number of seats available or the adequate number of candidates do not participate in the admission process.


    Tie Breaker Criteria for NEET PG Cut off 2020

    There are situations where two or more candidates score equal marks, in that situation the selection of candidates is done by tie breaker.  At that time, older candidate will get the preference.

    All India NEET-PG 2020 rank: Overall merit position for all the candidates who have appeared for NEET PG 2020 examination.

    All India 50% quota rank: Overall merit position of the candidates who have appeared in the examination falls to the category of quota. All over India, there’s provision for 50% seat reservation to the courses of MD, MS and PG Diploma 2020 admission session.

    All India 50% Quotas Category Rank: All over India, there’s provision for 50% seats quota reservation for candidates appearing for the NEET PG 2020 who falls to the category of SC or ST and OBC.

    State quota/ Private medical colleges/Deemed University/AFMS Rank: Seats are reserved for students on the basis of state quota rank, state category rank and rural posting.


    NEET  PG  2020 Rank 

    The rank lists will display the total marks secured by the candidate out of 1200, All India NEET PG 2020 Rank and roll number of the candidates. The rank list will be the framework for admission to government and private colleges. The All India NEET PG 2020 Rank is calculated on the basis of the candidates’ score in the NEET PG exam.


    NEET PG Merit List 2020

    NBE will prepare the NEET PG 2020 merit list on the basis of the candidates' score in the entrance examination. NEET PG 2020 merit list will be released online along with the scorecards.   The merit list of NEET PG 2020 gets released separately from the rank cards of the candidates. The score and individual rank of the candidates are mentioned in the NEET PG merit list. Moreover, the state counseling authorities will issue their own merit by using NEET PG merit list 2020 published by NBE.

    Normalization of Marks for NEET PG 2020

    Normalization of score includes the percentile score that means the minimum marks required to qualify for the NEET PG 2020 examination. The calculation of the percentile score is based on the applicant’s percentile in the exam with respect to the marks obtained by other applicants. NEET Percentile= 100- (your rank*100)/Total No. of Candidates

    1- 4 marks for every correct answer.

    2- (-1) for each wrong answer.

    3- 0 marks for doing more than one answer

    4- 0 marks for un-attempted or blank answers


    NEET PG Counseling 2020 Procedure

    The counseling of NEET PG 2019 will be held in the online mode by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) in two rounds. Candidates will participate in the online NEET PG 2019 counseling and fill in their choices of institutions in the order of their preferences.  The allotment of seats in various institutions will be according to the candidates’ merit rank and the opted preference. The result of each round of NEET PG counseling 2019 will be available on the website of MCC.
