WBJEE 2021 Counselling:
Candidates seeking admission to all the government and private colleges in the state of West Bengal need to appear for the WBJEE exam and complete the e-counselling process. Allotment of seats to candidates will be done on the basis of candidates’ rank in WBJEE or JEE Main for BTech/ BPharma and NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by the Council of Architecture, Delhi for BArch admission in India) for BArch, preferred choices and seat availability. The e-counselling process for BTech admission through WBJEE and JEE Main will be held simultaneously. Candidates will have to physically report at the Reporting Centres (RCs) to get the document verified.
WBJEE seat allotment 2021 results for each round will be released by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) along with the opening and closing ranks for all WBJEE colleges. Candidates can check their seat allotment results on the official website by submitting their registered login credentials. However, the WBJEE cut off (opening and closing ranks) are available in a downloadable pdf format and does not require any login. Candidates who are satisfied with their WBJEE seat allotment result can make the payment of acceptance fee and report at the reporting centre for document verification. However, those who are not satisfied with their allotment can withdraw their candidature. Please note that this is the last and final round of seat allotment. No further rounds will be conducted by WBJEEB.

Non-Negotiable Point
- Counselling will be done based on the GMR/ PMR rank.Read about WBJEE Merit List
- Online registration is allowed only once in 1st round of counselling.
- No fresh registration will be allowed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of counselling.
- Seats in the first round will be allocated based on candidates’ rank, preferred choices and seat availability.
- For the remaining rounds, seats will be allocated based on the vacant seats of the previous round.
- After completion of the counselling and admission procedure, no duplicate Rank card will be generated
WBJEE Round wise Counselling:
WBJEE counselling process will comprise of three rounds. In case the seats are left vacant, a fourth-round is conducted by the Board.
Registration For Counselling
As the initial step, candidates need to register themselves to take part in counselling. After registration, candidates need to fill the choices within the stipulated time period and lock them. In case, the choices are not locked, they will automatically be locked after the time period is over.
Round 1
After the choices of registered candidates for e-counselling are locked, the total number of seats (almost 36000) present with the board will be allotted to such candidates based on their rank and choices. After the seat allotment, candidates need to report to the corresponding reporting centres. For the second round, the list of vacant seats is generated.
Round 2
In this round, the left-over seats are allotted to un-allocated candidates. The choices are also upgraded for the candidates. The candidates here, need not report to Reporting Centers if they do not want to change their choices. Just like round 1, the list of vacant seats is generated for the last round
Eligibility Criteria for the second round of Counselling:
- Group–I: Registered candidates who did not score any seat in Round 1.
- Group-II: Registered candidates who got a seat in the Round 1 and visited the reporting centre but the allotted seat was cancelled due to non-fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
- Group–III: Registered candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1, reported to the reporting centre, completed admission formalities and also submitted willingness ‘Yes’ for up-gradation in further rounds of counselling.
- Group–IV: Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1, reported to the reporting centre, completed admission formalities and submitted willingness ‘No’ for up-gradation. The allotted seat for such candidates would be retained in the same category or in the upgraded category.
Not eligible for 2nd Round
- Did not report to RC after seat allotment in the first round.
- Candidates reported but withdrew from RC.
- Failure to confirm the documents.
Round-3
The seat is allocated to un-allocated candidates along with choice up-gradation. The candidates here, need not report to Reporting Centers if they do not want to change their choices.
Steps to Admission
Step-1: Registration
The initial step when willing to take part in the exam counselling is online registrations. Candidates will have to register on the official website of WBJEEB; the conducting authority of WBJEE in order to participate in WBJEE counselling.
Step 2: Pay WBJEE counselling fee
After successful registrations, candidates will have to make the payment of Rs 500 as WBJEE counselling fee. Only those candidates who complete the online registration process and make the payment of prescribed counselling fee will be allowed to participate in further rounds of counselling. Registration and payment of fee are to be done through the available web portals only (wbjeeb.nic.in/ wbjeeb.in).
Step 3: Fill and lock choices
Registered candidates need to use their application number and password to log in and fill their choices for the preferred college and course. Candidates who fail to do or miss this step will not be considered for admission and seat allotment. After the option entry process concludes, candidates will have to lock their choices for the final WBJEE seat allotment. Candidates who fail to lock choices, they will be allocated seat basis their last saved choices.
Step 4: Check WBJEE seat allotment result
After the choice filling and locking process concludes, candidates will be allocated seat basis their preference list and availability of seats. WBJEE seat allotment result is declared online and the process is spread across three rounds. Candidates who are allocated seats in the first round of seat allotment will have to report at the reporting centres. Verified candidates will have to pay the provisional admission fee (mentioned below) at the reporting centre.

Step 5: Report at the reporting centres
Candidates who are allocated seats will have to get their documents verified at the reported centres authorised by WBJEEB. At this stage, candidates who are allocated seats in the first round can either pay the acceptance fee or opt for up-gradation. Provisional allotment letter containing allotment details, fee details, and willingness for up-gradation will be issued to candidates at the reporting centres.
Candidates who choose for up-gradation will be considered for seat allotment in the further rounds. Candidates who opt for up-gradation in the first round and are willing to take admission as per the allotment must report at the RC during the second round. They are allowed to change their up-gradation status from "Yes" to "No" during the second round of WBJEE seat allotment but not from "No" to "Yes".
Candidates who opt for up-gradation in the first round and are willing to have further up-gradations after second round need to report at the RC during the second round of seat allotment. Physics reporting and admission at the allotted institute by candidates who are not willing to opt for up-gradation is permissible after completion of the second round.
Documents required for WBJEE Counselling
Following are the documents to be produced by candidates participating in WBJEE counselling in original along with a set of attested photocopies.
- WBJEE Admit Card 2021
- WBJEE Rank Card 2021
- Class 10th and 12th certificate & mark sheet
- Rural weightage certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate
- Domicile certificate of candidate’s father or mother (applicable if a candidate has passed qualifying exam from a state other than West Bengal)
- Character certificate
- Medical Fitness certificate/ undertaking
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Sub-category certificate (if applicable)
- Income certificate (if applicable)
WBJEE Counselling Fee: Rs 500 (plus bank charges if applicable)
Note: The WBJEE counselling fee 2021 will be non-refundable.
WBJEE Seat allotment 2021
After the online registration process is successfully conducted, candidates need to take part in the choice filling process for the final WBJEE seat allotment. Here, candidates will be asked to select the college/seat by clicking on its name on the monitor in the presence of the Nodal Officer for WBJEE admissions 2021. The seat allotment of WBJEE 2021 is based on the WBJEE Cut off list carrying the names of qualified candidates. Only those candidates who have obtained a score equal to the cut off list will be allowed to participate in the exam e-counselling.
After the choice filling process is over, the candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their ranks in WBJEE 2021 and preference of college
Those candidates who have been allocated a seat will be required to physically report to the Reporting Centre (RC). This is the next step in the counselling process and is mandatory
Candidates will be required to carry all the necessary documents to the reporting centre as the verification of these documents will take place at the RC. The initial admission fee will also have to be paid at this stage
WBJEE Reporting Centre 2021
After the successful conduct of the seat allotment process through WBJE counselling, candidates will be asked to report at the WBJEE reporting centres 2021 with all the required documents. The process of WBJEE document verification will take place at these authorised centres. After the authorities have successfully verified all the documents, they will be offered admission into their choice of the institute.
