Bhubaneswar: The result of second round of seats allotment for engineering admissions conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination 2019 has been released today on its official website. As per the information around 12,700 students with JEE (Main) rankings had applied to take admission in the engineering colleges of the state. From them around 7,700 candidates are listed in these two rounds.
In the comparison of seats in the state engineering colleges, the number of students are very low which proves that technical colleges may not fill up thousands of vacant seats this year too. As per the calculation, the applicants are about 19,700 against 34,000 total engineering seats in the state.
“After the final round allotment the state government will hand over the seats to the colleges. The process of admission will also be conducted at college level. We hope 25,000 seats will be filled up this year and we will give more information related to fill up and vacant seats by this date.” said by Binod Dash, Secretary of Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA)
