to hold an open house for JEE Advanced women candidates on June 23.
During the counseling at the IIT Delhi on June 23, women students will get an opportunity to discuss their relevant choices of the branch/institute with the faculty, current students and alumni. They would find out about the lives of the women students at the IITs in the general and the IIT Delhi in particular, a statement released here as said.
The representatives from the IIT Mandi would also turn around the open house at the IIT Delhi so as to share the information about their campus.
The first of the session is of the open house which will start at 10 am, the second would commence at 2 pm. The duration of each of the session will be three hours.
This year, around 17 percent of the seats in every of the branch of the IITs which have been designated as “female-only seats”.
This is has been done by creating the sufficient supernumerary seats, without any of the reduction in the number of the seats available to the non-women candidates.
Prof. Sumeet Agarwal, nodal officer, JEE (women) helpdesk, IIT Delhi, said,” The total number of the females-only seats across all of the IITs is 2,415, whereas the total number of women who have qualified for the JEE(Advanced) is 5,356. The qualified women candidates have a good chance to stand and getting an IIT seat and the branch of their relevant choice.
The open house is here being organized under the Initiative for the General Equity and the Sensitisation (IGES), a unit of the relevant IIT Delhi created on March 8, 2018."
Meanwhile, the IIT Gandhinagar is also of the hosting open houses at three locations to the guide successful JEE-Advanced students and to their parents about the different engineering branches at the relevant IITs career opportunities to help them and also to gain a better understanding of the IIT education system.
The first of the open house here of the Gandhinagar Institute would be held at the Ph.D. Chamber of the Commerce and of the Industry in the New Delhi’s Hauz Khas scheduled to be on the date of June 22.
The second and the third open house here events would be held on the June 23 scheduled to be at Mumbai and Gandhinagar. The result of the JEE(Advanced) 2019 was scheduled to be declared on June 14. As many as the 161,319 students had appeared for the examination. Of which the count of 38,705 qualified it.
