The All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) make a advisory for all the engineering collages in India approved by AICET and said institutions approved by AICET must not insist on the payment of fee till the restrictions are lifted. This advisory is issued because AICTE noticed that some institutions are demanding fees from students during lock down. In this advisory they told that the Institutes approved by the AICET must withdraw all terminations made during the lock down.
In this All India Council for Technical Education(AICET) advisory its also mention that the online classes will be continue for the current semesters. The technical education regulatory body has also told institutions not to lay off staff or stop payments of salaries. They have to provides the respected salary of their faculty.
What is AICET?
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament, AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India. The AICTE accredits postgraduate and graduate programs under specific categories at Indian institutions as per its charter.
