Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is an entrance exam for admission in the Bachelor Degree program of Design (B.Des) at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), and Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur (IIITDMJ). UCEED is a descriptive test to inspect the logical, creative, observation, and drawing skills of the students for the programs like Product Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Graphic, Vehicle Design, and Mobility. UCEED 2021 Schedule:
The official schedule of UCEED 2021 has been released by the conducting authority of the examination. The schedule contains the complete details of the important dates of application, examination, result, and counseling. It is very important for the students to check the complete schedule so that there would be no confusion in dates and avoid any kind of last-minute hassle. UCEED 2021 Admit Card:
The admit card for UCEED 2021 has been available only for those candidates who have successfully Registered/Submitted the Application Form. The candidates will be able to access the admit card by visiting the official website. The admit card will be available until the 19th of January. It is a mandatory object for the exam. No candidates will be allowed to appear in the exam without the admit card. The candidates are advised to take more than one print out of the admit card for the entrance exam. The admit card should be produced at the exam hall upon demand. There are certain details that are mentioned in the Admit card/Hall Ticket like the Test Ticket Number/Admit Card Number, Test Date, Test Center Timings, Candidate's Name as mentioned in the Application Form, and many other details. If there is any error in the admit card then the student should report a complaint regarding the same to the Conducting authority of the UCEED Examination i.e. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai. Once the complaint is registered the Conducting authority will send the revised Admit card to the candidate through registered email id. (given during the time of registration). It is mandatory for the Candidate has to appear for the exam along with the admit card, without the admit card/hall ticket, no student will be allowed to attain the exam.

UCEED 2021 Exam Pattern:
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay released the new exam pattern of UCEED 2021 on September 9, 2020. As per the UCEED 2021 exam pattern, the exam will be conducted in computer-based mode. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks. There are NO NEGATIVE marks for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.

Each MSQ has one or more correct answer(s) out of the four given choices. The candidate gets 4 marks only if ALL the correct choices and NO wrong choices are selected. There are NO NEGATIVE or PARTIAL marks for this section. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one is the correct answer. There is a NEGATIVE marking for this section. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and each wrong answer will be awarded –1 (minus one) mark. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.

This section has a question related to Drawing. Drawing skills of candidates are evaluated in this section of the exam. Part B of UCEED exam comprises of a subjective question. Questions in this section of the exam are displayed on a computer screen and aspirants need to draw/ write their reponses in an answer sheet that is provided to them by the invigilator.

IIT Bombay has released the application form of UCEED 2021 (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design) on 9 September. Candidates can apply for the exam till 24th October (without late fee). The candidates interested in the entrance exam are advised to visit the official website and before filling up the application form candidate should check the Eligibility Criteria required. Its is advised that before filling up the form, the candidates should keep all their documents with them. After UCEED result is announced, candidates can download their UCEED scorecard from the official website of the exam. The scorecard of UCEED Exam consists of the candidate’s name, roll number, score and UCEED rank. UCEED 2021 Answer Key:
The answer key for UCEED 2021 will be released by the authorities prior to the declaration of the Result. The answer key will contain the right answers to the questions of the entrance exam. UCEED 2021 Eligibility Criteria:
The UCEED 2021 eligibility criteria are prescribed by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) which is also conducting the body of the examination. Candidates who are aspiring for the UCEED exam 2021 will have to check the detailed eligibility norms or criteria of the exam so that it will help them to figure out whether they are eligible for the entrance exam or not. Both Indian, as well as foreign nationals, can apply for UCEED 2021:
- Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1996, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1991, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category.
- Criterion 2 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Note that the UCEED score is valid for one year, and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
- Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed in all subjects in the Qualifying Examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2020, OR should be appearing for the qualifying examination in 2021 in order to be eligible to attempting UCEED 2021. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.
- Candidates who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible

Q: Are there any books that I can study to prepare for UCEED?
A: UCEED is a design aptitude test. Aptitude tests assume that individuals have inherent strengths and weaknesses, and are naturally inclined toward success or failure in certain areas based on their inherent characteristics. Except for the syllabus section 'Environmental and social awareness' which will test your general awareness of the topics outlined under it, the remaining five sections will test your aptitude. Consequently, there are no text or reference books that we can recommend.
