CLAT 2022
CLAT is commonly known as Common-Law Admission Test is a national-level law entrance examination conducted by The Consortium of National Law Universities for admission to UG- 5-year integrated LLB and 1- year PG- LLM course offered by 22 participating National Law Universities(NLUs), 61 private colleges, and other participating institutes. Currently, UG courses are offered by all 22 NLUs, while PG courses are offered at 19 NLUs. But admission to Delhi's National Law University is not done on the basis of CLAT but on the basis of the All India Law Entrance Test, AILET.
CLAT 2022 Registration has been started from 1st January 2022. The registration process will continue till 9th May 2022.

CLAT 2022 Admit Card:
The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) will release soon the admit card of CLAT 2022 (Common Law Admission Test). Registered candidates can download by logging in through their mobile number and Password.
It is advisable for the students to check the details mentioned in the admit card before downloading the same. If any kind of error is found then the student can apply for a change of the admit card. The complaint should be given to the exam authority and then only the new admit card will be issued by them to the candidate. If the student does not rectify the error within the correction window then he/she will not be allowed to participate in the examination. There is some general information of the candidate like the candidate's name, roll number, registration number, photo, etc that is mentioned in the admit card.

- Click on the “Login” button
- Enter the mobile number and password to login for admit card
- The admit card will appear on the screen mentioning details regarding the exam appearing candidates and exam centre details besides CLAT exam schedule
- Cross-verify all the details and proceed to download it
- Get at least 3 printouts of the admit card on an A4 sheet for future references

If a candidate forgets the password required to login to their registered accounts, they can follow the below-mentioned steps to recover the same:
- On the login window for CLAT Admit Card, click on the 'Forgot Password' button at the bottom
- It will redirect to a new page, where candidates need to enter the registered mobile number
- Click on Request OTP button and it will be sent on the registered mobile number
- A pop-up will appear – Click on OK button
- Enter mobile number, OTP (received on the mobile) and the new password
- Click on Reset Password button
- A new password will be successfully generated
Now, the candidates can log in to their registered accounts using the mobile number and new password to download their CLAT hall ticket.

CLAT 2022 Exam Pattern:
The Consortium of National Law University (NLUs) has announced the changes in CLAT 2022 exam pattern. According to the new pattern, the question pattern will have 150 questions based on English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. For LLM paper candidates have to secure at least 40% marks (35% for SC/ ST) out of total 120 objective types of questions to be qualified for 'Descriptive paper'. The Consortium has also shared sectional weightage/ question paper format of CLAT 2022 on January 1 along with the application form.

CLAT 2022 Cut Off:
Expected Cut-off for CLAT 2022:
CLAT Cut off usually ranges between 95-100 for general category while for SC/ST category, CLAT Cut off usually ranges between 80-85. Based on previous year’s analysis, CLAT Cut off for top 3 NLUs is expected to be between 100-105 and for top 5 NLUs it is expected to be between 90-95.
CLAT 2022 Application Form:
The registration for CLAT 2022 has begun from January 2022. Interested candidate can access the application form online. To apply, the candidates need to visit the official website for CLAT 2022 as no offline mode of application is available. After the CLAT Application fee can be paid by online using Debit, Credit or Net Banking.

How to Apply CLAT 2022 Application Form Online?
Step 1 Registration:

To register, candidates first need to visit the official website of the CLAT Consortium. To register, candidates first need to visit the official website of the CLAT Consortium.
Once registered, candidates need to activate their accounts by entering the mobile number and OTP (received on their mobile during the registration process) on the displayed screen. Once the details are submitted, a dialogue box opens, stating, "You are going to activate your account, Please confirm”. Candidates need to click the 'OK' button.

Fill the asked details in the application form with proper details. The information given should be true to the best of the candidate's knowledge. If any kind of mis information is given then the total registration will be canceled.

Validate and Submit CLAT Application Form:
Once all the details are filled up, the candidates can have a preview of the application form before submitting it. After checking the details of the application form the students can submit the application form. The details should be thoroughly checked as the details cannot be changed after the final submit.

After filling up the application form the students have to upload the asked documents on the website. The documents should be in the prescribed format otherwise the documents cannot be uploaded on the website.

Step 4 CLAT 2022 Application Fee:
The application fee payment can be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking/pay wallet/RuPay, etc. Candidates can also make payment through the offline mode of the transaction (Bank Challan). The application fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Important Notes:
Some of the things that candidates need to keep in mind at the time of filling CLAT application form include:
- No hard copy of the filled-in application form is to be sent to the CLAT Consortium Office.
- CLAT application form correction facility is not available. Therefore, candidates are advised to furnish all details in the online application form very carefully.
- It is not mandatory to complete the CLAT application process in one sitting. Candidates can save the CLAT application form at any stage and always come back and continue from where they left. The system automatically shows the page from where candidates need to continue.
- Candidates must spell their parents’ and their names correctly as mentioned in the certificates/ mark sheets/ identity proof. Any alteration in the name of the candidate or his/ her parents may disqualify the candidature.
- Candidates should ensure that all the information provided by them in the application form is correct and authentic.
- No change in the preference order for the 22 NLUs is allowed after the final submission of the application form. Therefore, candidates are advised to give their preference for NLUs very carefully.
- In case, candidates fill more than one application form, only their last online application form is considered. CLAT application fee for previous forms, in such cases, is not refunded.

CLAT 2022 Counselling:
The counselling session for CLAT 2022 will be conducted offline at the CLAT office. The seats will be allotted to the qualified candidates as per their merit scored in the exam. The candidate will be given the option to choose their preferable NLU for their admission. They have to choose their preference before appearing for the counselling session. The eligible candidates will be intimated for the counselling session. The candidates need to register themselves for the counselling session online on the official website of CLAT 2022. All the original documents are also required for the document verification process.
CLAT 2022 Counselling Process:
- Publication of 1st Admission List:
CLAT Consortium will release a separate merit list for each NLU based on all India ranks and preference marked by candidates during their application process. Candidates can check the merit list for each NLU and participate in the online counselling accordinglyPublication of 2nd Admission List:After the publication of the 1st publication list, the students who were in the waiting list will get a second chance if there are some vacant seats availablePublication of 3rd Admission List:This the final admission list for the admission into various law courses. - Counselling Fee Payment:
As per the admission list, candidates have to confirm their admission by fee payment and choice locking. The counselling fee has to be paid within the specified dates. Once, the counselling fee has been paid, candidates need to exercise the options below:Lock option: This option is used by candidates to confirm their choice of NLU. Once lock option is used, candidates seats at the allotted NLU will be frozen and it won't be used for further seat allotment process. Moreover, the candidates need not participate in further seat allotment rounds (unless they withdraw admission).Upgrade: This option is used when candidates want to change the allotted institute to his or her higher choice (upward shifting). Such candidates will have to wait for the next seat allotment list and they will be allotted seats only in the upper list of colleges as per their preferences marked in their CLAT 2022 application form and depending on the availability of vacant seats.
- Completing admission formalities
- After seat allotment, candidates have to report to the allotted NLUs for further admission formalities like document verification and payment of remaining admission fees.
- Candidates have to carry all the documents required for verification in original as well as copies (to be submitted with the NLU)
- Candidates not reporting to their respective NLUs will not be confirmed for final admission.
- The consortium has reduced the cousnelling fee for the academic year 2022-23. This year, candidates will have pay Rs. 30,000 as a counselling fee. For SC/ST candidates, the counselling fee is Rs 20,000.
- Moreover, if candidates are found ineligible during document verification then their admission will be cancelled. Such candidates will also not be refunded any admission fee.

How the Ties in Merit List is Resolved:
- CLAT Consortium will break the ties in scores of the qualified candidates to allot ranks while preparing the CLAT merit list/ rank list. Tie-breaking is done in a situation where scores of two or more candidates qualifying CLAT exam is same. Below is the method used to resolve ties in the merit list of CLAT:
- The candidate with higher marks in the Legal Aptitude section of CLAT exam is ranked higher
- The candidate who has a higher age (the older candidate) is ranked higher
- Computerised draw of lots – Here, the candidate whose name appears in the draw is ranked higher
Important events after Results Publication:
1. Publication of Cut-off:
Once the result is published by the Consortium of NLU's, the cut-off will be released soon after on the official website. The cutoff is basically the minimum marks/rank that aspirants need to secure in order to qualify for this law entrance exam.
2. Publication of Merit List:
CLAT Consortium will publish the merit list of CLAT 2022 after announcing the results. Each merit list will mention the ranks of candidates, their category and other details. The listed candidates can participate in CLAT 2022 counselling for the seat allotment procedure at the NLUs. Basically, the CLAT merit list is the list of qualified candidates mentioning their All India Ranks.
3. CLAT Counselling:
After the release of the Cut-off and Merit List, the selected candidates whose names have been mentioned in the merit list will be invited for the counselling process. It is through the Counselling process that only the students can secure admission into U.G. & P.G. programs.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) will release the provisional answer key of CLAT 2022 (Common Law Admission Test) for both UG and PG.
The answer key for CLAT 2022 will be released on the official website. It is expected to be released in May 2022. If there are any issues with the answer, then it can be reported to the authorities. CLAT 2022 Eligibility:
There are certain eligibility criteria that the aspirant needs to full fill in order to be eligible for the CLAT 2022 entrance examination. There are many criteria of eligibility like the minimum required qualification of the student, maximum and minimum age of the student, minimum eligible marks etc. The eligibility for Undergraduate is very different from that of the Postgraduate courses. It is advisable for the aspirants to check the eligibility before registering themselves. This is because if it is found that the aspirant is not eligible for the examination then the whole registration of the aspirant will be cancelled and the registration amount will not be refunded. Qualifying Exam: Candidates who have passed their Senior Secondary School Examination/ 12th Board Examination can apply
Qualifying marks: Interested candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 45% marks for general category and 40% for SC/ST category and the candidates who have given the examination but their result is not out yet, they can also apply for this examination.
Age Limit: The Candidates should not be more than the age of 20 years old. If you belong to SC, ST category then 22 years old candidates can also apply for it.
PG Courses:
Minimum Qualification: Interested candidates must have done LLB (5-year Integrated LLB degree) from a recognized university
Minimum marks: Minimum 55% marks for general candidates and 50% marks for ST/SC candidates.
Age Limit: There is no maximum age limit
