The Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) entrance exam is conducted by the Asian College of Journalism in order to offer admission to aspirants in post-graduate diploma courses in journalism.

The ACJ entrance exam is a national-level examination that is conducted every year across 17 cities in India. The entrance exam evaluates students in two parts- English language skills and general knowledge. The ACJ entrance exam is conducted in two sessions – morning and evening.

Important things to keep in mind

• For appearing in the Entrance Exam, students have to successfully fill and submit the application form. Students can obtain the form through both Online and Offline mode.
• Before appearing in the entrance examination, students have to download their admit card from the official website of the college by entering their registered email Id and Password.
• ACJ Entrance Exam 2021 is divided into two parts. The First part is conducted to evaluate students on the basis of their English language skills and in the second part General Knowledge of the candidate is tested.

ACJ 2021 Admit Card

Admit Card has been provided to the candidates who successfully applied for the ACJ entrance examination. The admit card will be notified to the candidates through Email. Admit card has been made available on the official website. Candidates have to carry the admit card to the examination center as identification proof. Without the admit card candidates will not be allowed to take the examination.

Steps to Download Admit Card for ACJ Entrance Exam

• Candidates can download the ACJ entrance exam 2021 admit card by visiting the official university of the university.

ACJ Entrance Exam Syllabus for General Knowledge
Asian College of Journalism’s official website informs that 60%-65% questions asked in Part B of ACJ entrance exam paper comprises of questions related to Current Affairs of the past one year.
The remaining ACJ entrance paper consists of GK questions on the below-mentioned topics:

• Scientific discoveries
• Space exploration – eg. Cassini-Huygens
• Economics (understanding of terms like GDP)
• New Media Terms (What is an I-pad?)
• Identifying people who have been in the news in the past year
• Events or people associated with the 1857 revolution,

ACJ 2021 Pattern

ACJ Entrance Exam Pattern for PG Diploma in Journalism
ACJ Entrance Exam Pattern is such that the test is divided into two parts:

• The first part tends to evaluate aspirants on the basis of their English language skills and facility.
• The second part tests the awareness about current affairs and general knowledge of candidates.

Apart from this, the official website states that ACJ entrance exam “also tests the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other procedures may be prescribed for candidates from abroad”. The official website also informs that the exam will be delivered online in real time.
ACJ Entrance Exam pattern for PG Diploma in Business and Financial Journalism
ACJ Entrance Exam Pattern for BFJ course is such that there will be questions related to the below-mentioned subjects:

• English language skills and facility
• Current affairs and general knowledge
• Basic Maths

Besides, there will also be a question wherein candidates have to write a 200-word essay on a given subject. The question aims at testing the writing ability of candidates. 

Cut- Off

Cut off marks are the minimum marks required to score by the candidate in order to qualify entrance examination. After the declaration of the result, the college released entrance examination cut off. Those students who have scored more than the cut off marks will be shortlisted for further selection process.
On the basis of the cut off marks, the merit list will be prepared. Students will be ranked in the merit list on the basis of their cut off marks. Students having marks less than the cut off marks are not eligible for admission in the college.

Cut off marks is decided on some of the following factors which are as below:

• Number of seats for allotment
• Reservation Norms
• Previous year Admission trend
• Last year cut off
• The difficulty level of the exam.

ACJ 2021 Application Form

Those students who have scored more than the cut-off marks will be shortlisted for the further selection process. Candidates can fill the ACJ entrance exam application form either online or offline.

How to apply online

• Visit the official website of Asian Media
• On the website home page, search for the application form link
• Click on the ACJ Application form link
• Fill the application form by entering all the required details
• Once the form is filled, students have to pay the application fee of amount INR 2360 through the payment gateway.
• Those who are filling the application form for Business and Financial Journalism need to pay the application fees of amount INR 2500.
• Students can pay the online application fees through credit card/ debit card/ net banking.

How to apply offline

• Visit the official website of Asian Media in order to download offline application form
• Students have to fill all the details in the application form correctly
• Now students have to send the filled in application form along with the application fees at the below-mentioned address.
• The offline application fees must be paid by Demand Draft. The DD should be drawn in favour of “Media Development Foundation” payable at Chennai.
• The DD should have the full name as well as the address of the candidate written on the back side of DD.

ACJ 2021 Counselling

Candidates who have successfully cleared the ACJ entrance exam, will be called for the counselling process. Once the ACJ entrance exam 2021 results have been declared, the university will release the counselling dates. Candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview process, have to be present on the campus at the time of counselling else the seat that will be allocated to other candidates.

Counselling consists of two rounds:

• Personal Interview
• Group Discussions

The candidates selected will have to appear according to the schedule which will be released by the university.

Students must bring the following list of documents at the time of counselling for verification:

• Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
• Class 12 mark sheet and certificate

ACJ 2021 Result

The result will show the names of the candidates shortlisted for admission on the college official website. After the completion of the examination, the result will be declared.
Students shortlisted for admission need to pay the first installment of fees as per date and time mentioned by ACJ admission council. Candidates ACJ entrance exam result are also sent on their registered email ID.

ACJ 2021 Answer Key:

The answer key for ACJ 2021 will be published online after the completion of the examination. However, the students can raise a complaint objecting to the official answer key in case of any wrong answer in the Answer key. The last date to submit the complaint is will be notified on the official notification. Note that to challenge the answer key, candidates have to pay a specified amount for processing the complaint. IF any kind of mistake is found then the revised final answer key will be released on the official website with prior notice.
