NID DAT

NID DAT exam is conducted by National Institute of Design. National Institute of Design (NID) is the reputed institution of Design that offers UG and PG design courses in its campuses. Admission into these courses is done through NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) followed by Studio Test and Personal Interview. 

Every year, hundreds of aspirants appear for NID DAT test to make their dream come true of being a designer; be it in Industrial, Communication, IT, Textile or Integrated design. The exam is conducted in Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Nagpur. 

The four-years long B.Des programme is offered at Ahmedabad campus, two and a half years M.Des programme is offered at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar campuses and GDPD is offered at NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra.

Educational Qualification:

Applications for academic year 2018–19 are open to applicants who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2017–18 in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent

 

 

 

Age Limit:

 

 

  • For Indian Nationals in General Category: Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible to apply for admission.
  •  
  • For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): Upper age limit for candidates is 23 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1995 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Upper age limit for candidates is 25 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1993 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years as on 30 June 2018. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible to apply for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Des

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization, after 10+2 system, from any university or institute recognised by law in India. Condition: Applicant must (have passed/have appeared for/be appearing for) the Bachelor degree examinations before July 2018. 

OR

Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization, under the 10+2 system. Condition: Applicants must have passed the Bachelor degree examinations before July 2017.

OR

Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 10+2 system, from any university or institute recognised by law in India. Condition: Applicants must (have passed/have appeared for/be appearing for) the Diploma examinations before July 2018. 

Note:

In case the degree/certificate has been obtained from a university/board of any country other than India, an equivalence certificate must be obtained by the candidate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, at the time of document verification. Age Limit:
