MH CET 2019 state level entrance exam is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell. This exam is a gateway to get admission in Engineering, Pharmacy and Pharm. D courses. It is also known as MHT CET, through which candidates can get admission in various government and private institutions of the state of Maharashtra.

  • Mode: The exam will be conducted through offline mode.
  • Duration of Exam: 90 minutes will be provided for whole exam.
  • Type of Question: The question paper will be comprised of multiple choice questions.
  • Language of Question Paper: The medium of examination shall be English/Marathi/Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematic paper shall be in English only.
  • Negative Marking: There is no provision of negative marking.

Photograph – Candidates will have to keep their recent colour passport size photograph with light/ white background ready. 

Signature – Candidates will have to sign (not in capital letters) on a white sheet of paper with a black ink pen. These signatures have to be scanned in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings. The specifications for uploading must be as specified below.

Maharashtra State Candidates

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSC/equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects. In these subjects taken together, the candidates should have secured a minimum of 50 % marks (for General Category) and at least 45 % marks (for reserved category and Persons with Disability candidates) belonging to Maharashtra State only).


Candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and secured a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (for General category) and at least 45 % aggregate marks (for reserved/backward category/Persons with Disability) belonging to Maharashtra State only.


Must have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognised university as defined by UGC with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (for General category) and at least 45% aggregate marks (for backward calss/Persons with Disability) belonging to Maharashtra State only. These candidates should have passed XII class with Mathematics as a subject

 Entrance Test: Candidates must have secured a valid score in MHT CET 2019 (PCM) or JEE Main 2019 Paper I

Children of NRI/OCI/PIO/Indian workers in Gulf Countries (CWIGC), Foreign National (FN) Candidates

These candidates must have passed HSC or equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of these – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50 % marks in the above subjects taken together

Candidates who do not fall in Type A or Type B but their mother or father is a

Government of India or Government of India Undertaking employee. Either of the parents should be posted and reported to the duty in Maharashtra before the deadline of MHT CET CAP application submission (which means the counselling application form).

The parents posting area must fall within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

Type D

Candidates who do not fall in (Type A, B and C category), but either of their parents are employees of or are retires as Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking. 

Place of posting of mother or father or place of settlement in case of retirement or place of last posting in case posted outside Maharashtra state falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

Type E

Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Exam from

a recognised institution situated in a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area and whose

Mother tongue is Marathi.

Candidates will be considered under outside home University or for outside Maharashtra state seats.

Step 1 – Register and enter personal details

Candidates will have to first get registered to fill MHT CET 2019 application form. For the purpose of registration, following details have to be entered:

Education Details

Details required for the exam:

  • Subjects for CET examination (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology)
  • Language for the exam (English, Marathi, Urdu)
  • Note -Marathi and Urdu can only be chosen if medium of instruction was Marathi/ Urdu in HSC/ 12th

 Login Details 

  • Candidates will have to create a password (minimum 8 and maximum 15 characters and must have one upper case, one lower case and one numeric)
  • After entering the password, candidates will have to confirm it. This password will be used for future logins.
  • Declaration by the candidate
  • Candidates need to read the declaration written there and then click on “I Agree”.
  • Candidates need to enter the security key as provided and then click on “Next” button.

Step 2 – Registration confirmation

Once the candidates will register themselves, a confirmation page including their application number will appear. This application number will also be sent to them on their provided email address. Candidates can verify or view their entered information by clicking on the link provided.

Step 3 – Editing of form and uploading of photograph and signature

Candidates will get a chance to edit their details on this page in case they have provided anything wrong or incomplete. It is to be noted that candidate's full name, father's name, last name, date of birth, mobile number, Email Id are not editable at this stage. Candidates will also be able to upload their photograph and signature in specified formats.

 How to check the size of photograph and signature files uploaded?

 Follow the steps mentioned below to check the size of the files uploaded:

  • Candidates will have to open the digital or scanned photograph or signature in MS Paint by right clicking the photograph or signature.
  • They need to press Ctrl + W, a window will open which will have an option 'resize by %'. Enter anything between 10 to 50% and save the file with an extension .jpg.
  • Check for the size of the file in 'properties'. If the file size is still not between 15 KB to 50 KB for Photograph and 5 KB to 20 KB, once again open in paint and resize it to bring it to within specified range.
  • Repeat this process till the file size is between the specified range.

 Step 4 – Confirmation of uploaded photograph and signature 

If the upload is successful, the candidate will receive a confirmation message. Candidates will be required to check both the files they have uploaded and if there is any correction required, they will have to upload it again by choosing the correct files. In case, the uploaded files are correct candidates will have to click on “Continue” and move to the next step.

 Step 5 – Making of payment

Candidates will have to press the “Click here to make payment” button to make the payment. Payment can be made by any of the following modes - Credit Card/ Debit Card, Internet Banking, Debit Card (ATM PIN), Wallets and more.

A page with all the details of the candidate including the CET application fee amount and service charges (as applicable) will be displayed. Candidates must check all the details and read the declaration, and agree to it. After this, candidates will have to click on “Pay now” and make payment for application form of MHT CET 2019.

Step 6 - Registration process completion confirmation

After successful payment of the application fee, a confirmation of the same will be displayed online. Candidates are advised to take a print out of the receipts for future references. It is important that candidates take a print out of their MHT CET registration confirmation too. The application number of MHT CET 2019 will be used for future correspondence. 

Step 7 - Print out of Acknowledgement Page

It is important that candidates take out atleast 2 print outs of their MHT-CET 2019 acknowledgement page.

MHT CET 2019 Application Form Correction

The exam conducting authority is likely to open the facility of MHT CET application form correction in the fourth week of March 2019. The application correction of MHT CET 2019 is allowed only once, so candidates need to be careful when making the corrections. Also, not all data can be modified using MHT CET application form 2019 correction facility. 

Information that can be modified include - name of candidate, date of birth, exam details, etc.

How to make corrections to MHT CET 2019 application form

  • Candidate needs to click on the MHT CET application correction link
  • Log-in to the portal using application number and password
  • After successfully logging in, make the necessary changes.

 Salient features of MHT CET application form 2019

  • It is important to note that an incomplete application form will be rejected. CET Application form sent by post/ courier will also be rejected.
  • Candidates will have to submit one and only one application form. In case, the candidate submits more than one application form, the last submitted online application form along with payment will be considered as valid.
  • Candidate provided email id and mobile number entered in the registration form will be treated as primary contact details and all communications will be sent to the same.
  • If a mail is not received by the candidate in INBOX, It is suggested to check the Spam/ Junk folder. Candidates are advised to access emails regularly
