IIMC Entrance Exam

 

Indian Institute of Mass Communication conducts the IIMC entrance exam 2019 for admission in education, training and research in the field of mass communication. It is a national level entrance exam which is organized every year by the IIMC. The exam is applicable to get admission in Post graduate diploma in journalism in seven languages including English.

Aspirants seeking admission in Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Journalism (Hindi & English), Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Radio and TV Journalism, Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Advertising and Public Relations as well as Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Journalism (Odia/ Urdu/ Marathi/ Malyalam) need to appear for IIMC Entrance Exam 2018.

 

 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply.

Age Limit: General category candidate should be born on August 1, 1994 or later. OBC category candidate should be born on August 1, 1991 or later. SC/ST/PH category candidate should be born on August 1, 1989 or later.

Qualifying Exam: The candidates should hold the bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institution.

Appearing Candidates: Final year candidates are also eligible to apply provided they have to submit their provisional degree before 31st August 2019.

 

Paper Pattern

 There is no standardised pattern for the written examination. However, candidates will be judged on the following parameters:

For Journalism Courses

i) General Awareness: 

Including understanding of social dynamics; interest in social history; awareness of public debates on matters of polity and economy; awareness about international developments influencing power equations in the world and their impact on India.

ii) Aptitude & mental ability

 iii) Language capability & iv) Analytical & comprehension skills.

 

For Advertising and Public Relations

i) General Awareness,
