 GATE

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will conduct GATE 2019 in online mode tentatively during the first week and second week of February for 23 papers. GATE 2019 is a national level post graduate entrance examination for admission to M.E./M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs and other Universities in India. GATE is an examination conducted jointly by the IISc, Bangalore and seven IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE.

GATE 2019 Registration

Candidates will register & fill application only through online mode on the official website. GATE 2019 application form will be available in the first week of September to the first week of October 2018. Upload your scanned images such as photograph (Maximum Size: 480×640 pixels, Minimum Size: 240×320 pixels & Dimension: 3.5cm × 4.5cm) and signature (Maximum Size: 160×560, Minimum Size: 80×280 pixels & Dimension: 2cm × 7cm). Candidates also have to upload certificate of qualifying degree, category certificate and/or Dyslexic certificate (if applicable). At the time of GATE registration 2019, candidates can choose three exam cities as examination centres. Candidates also have to fill ID number specified in any of the following, i.e. Aadhaar-UID, College ID, Driving License, Employee ID, Passport, PAN Card & Voter ID. There will be no need to send any hard copy of application/documents to the officials. Candidates should take a print copy of GATE application form 2019 for further references.

Application Fee

The application fee will be deposited through online mode by using either net banking or debit card or credit card.The fee will be non-refundable & non-transferable. The fee details are given below in the table:

GATE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To apply for GATE, candidates have to meet certain criteria with regard to the qualifying degree. Aspirants can look up the details below for the eligibility and ensure they meet the same before applying.

  • Candidates may be Indian Nationals or from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E)
  • Final year students are eligible to apply and must upload the scanned image of third year (fifth/sixth semester) mark sheet
  • International candidates should have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Master’s degree in Science in a relevant subject or must be in the final year of the program.

Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E/B.Tech)
