Material Management

Material management is an approach for planning, organizing, and controlling all those activities principally concerned with the flow of materials into an organisation. Materials managers are the powerhouse of a company. For a big company, they may be purchasing materials worth crores of rupees. That in itself leads to status enhancement in the market. The scope of Materials Management varies greatly from company to company and may include material planning and control, production planning, Purchasing, inventory control, in-plant materials movement, and waste management. It is a business function for planning, purchasing, moving, storing material in a optimum way which help organisation to minimise the various costs like inventory, purchasing, material handling and distribution costs. The fundamental objectives of the Materials Management function are acquisition of materials and services of the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right time, from the right source, at the right price.



 UG (3 Years)

To take admission into a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed Intermediate 10+2 examination.

PG (2 Years) /MBA

An MBA is 2 years full-time or part-time or through distance education programme. It is offered by the various institutions in and out of the country.

  • In India, to enroll in this course one must hold the bachelor’s degree minimum of 3 years duration in any of the disciplines & and must have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • One can join this course after completing UG degree in B.Tech/B.Arch, medical, arts, humanities, commerce and science.
  • To pursue MBA in this course of study, one have to clear entrance exams like CAT/MAT/XAT or any other exams conducted by the concerned institution+ GD (Group Discussion) + PI (Personal Interview).
  • There is no age limit to apply for this course.
