The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Puducherry, has declared the result of JIPMER MBBS 2018 on June 8, 2018. The result of JIPMER MBBS 2018 is declared in online mode in three forms – individual scorecard, 2 Overall and 11 Category-wise merit lists. 1, 97,551 candidates had registered for the exam but only 1, 56,422 candidates appeared on the exam.
As per JIPMER MBBS 2018 cutoff, candidates were required to score a minimum of 50th percentile, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH category to qualify JIPMER MBBS entrance exam. As per the exam pattern, four marks were awarded for every correct answer out of the total of 200 questions that were asked. For the first time, JIPMER MBBS introduced negative marking in its exam pattern with one mark being deducted for every incorrect response.
The toppers of NEET 2018 are seen to have secured the top 50 ranks in JIPMER MBBS as well. Apart from the topper, Ankadala Anirudh Babu, other NEET toppers who secured good ranks in JIPMER include the NEET 2018 AIR 1, Kalpana Kumari, who has secured AIR 33 in JIPMER, and Rohan Purohit, the AIR 2 in NEET 2018 who have secured AIR 29 in JIPMER MBBS. Prerak Tripathi, who secured AIR 33 in NEET, has secured AIR 2 in JIPMER behind Anirudh Babu. Gujarat resident Amitabh Pankaj Chauhan, AIR 34 in NEET 2018, has emerged as the AIR 4 in JIPMER MBBS 2018.
The counselling for JIPMER MBBS 2018 has been scheduled to begin from June 27, 2018. However, with the results being declared 12 days in advance, the counselling rounds may also be brought forward.
