JMI Entrance Exam 2021: Registration Process | EducationAsia.in

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Entrance Exam offers various UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and M.Phil & Ph.D. courses in different disciplines. The JMI entrance exam application forms will be available online on the official website in the first week of February 2021 and the JMI entrance exam admit cards will be released in the second week of April 2021 (tentatively). The JMI entrance test will be conducted in May 2021 and the results are expected to be announced in June 2021.
Admission to BA, B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, BA-LL.B, BHM, BPT, B.Li.I.Sc, BFA, BTTM and B.Ed courses is offered on the basis of a valid score in JMI Entrance Test followed by an Interview. A valid rank in JEE Main is the primary requirement to secure admission in B.Tech and B.Arch courses. JMI also offers BDS program for which candidates have to qualify in NEET UG conducted at all India level. MA, M.Sc, M.Com, LL.M, MFA, M.Ed, M.Li.I.Sc and MPT admissions are granted through an entrance test conducted by JMI and Interview.
Jamia (JMI) also offers admission to M.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Arch courses through its own entrance test. Candidates have to qualify in the Written Test and Interview to secure admission in M.Phil & Ph.D. programs. CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ GATE/ SLET or M.Phil passed candidates are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test. Such candidates have to appear in the Interview round only.
The university also offers Self-Financed, Evening, Part-Time with Distance Education courses (Centre of Distance & Open Learning (CODL)) in various streams.

JMI Entrance Exam 2021 Schedule

It is very important for the students to check the official schedule so as to avoid any confusion in dates. The students can check the table given below or the official website for the latest schedule of the JMI Entrance Exam 2021. JMI Entrance Exam 2021 Admit Card

The university releases JMI entrance exam admit card for different courses in online mode as per the prescribed schedule. However, it may be noted that the varsity also informs candidates about the availability of admit cards through SMS on their respective registered mobile numbers.
Candidates can download their JMI entrance exam 2021 admit card from the varsity’s admission portal by logging in to their accounts

Steps to download JMI admit card
Step 1: After the candidates has successfully filled and submitted the JMI application forms, the candidate can download their admit cards which will be released on the official website of the university. Candidates will also be notified on their registered email-ID and phone numbers which the applicant registered while applying.
Step 2: The candidate will have to visit the official website of the university. From there on, the aspirant will have to enter their login ID/email ID, mobile number and password to access the registered account.
Step 3: Once the candidate has entered the details, a link will be available ‘download admit card’. Candidates can click on the link to avail the JMI admit card.
After downloading the admit card, candidates are advised to take two printouts of the JMI admit card. Aspirants need to check and verify the details before appearing for the JMI 2021 entrance exam. If there is any wrong information or misprint in the card, the candidate can contact the university regarding an inquiry.

Things to remember
1- Candidates are suggested to carry a minimum of two JMI admit cards along with them to the exam centre as one admit is to be given to the exam invigilator. Candidates are also advised to keep the admit card carefully after the entrance exam for future purposes.
2- The JMI admit card should also contain a self-attested coloured passport size photograph affixed on it. Without the photograph, the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.
3- The JMI entrance exam venue will be mentioned on the JMI admit card. Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least half an hour before the scheduled time.
4- Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.
The admit card will not be sent by the university via mail, post or courier. However, the candidates will be notified on the registered numbers and email IDs on when the admit card will be released. The candidate can download the admit card from the official website of the university.

JMI Entrance Exam 2021 Exam Pattern

The JMI 2021 entrance exam pattern is such that candidates need to attempt 200 questions in 3 hours. The question paper will contain objective/multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and no subjective questions. Candidates are also advised to be careful while answering the questions are there will be negative marking for every question answered wrongly.
The entrance exam for admission in courses offered at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) consists of two sections – A and B.
Section A comprises of objective type questions wherein candidates need to answer questions from spheres such as:
National and international political issues/personalities

  • General knowledge
  • Film, television and other media
  • Art, literature and culture

Section B of the entrance test consists of descriptive questions. Informing more about descriptive type questions asked in section B of the entrance exam, the official website informs: “This paper comprises of essay type long answers which reflect the candidates' critical understanding of contemporary issues and the media. This paper also evaluates candidates' skill in visualisation, story-telling and their creative aptitude”.
Aspirants who clear the written entrance exam are eligible to appear for the interview and portfolio submission round.
Interview: This admission round is of approximately 10-20 minutes. Here, aspirants are evaluated on the below mentioned parameters:  
1- Knowledge of the contemporary political, social, cultural and economic issues
2- Knowledge of contemporary media
3- Knowledge of film — fiction and non-fiction
4- General knowledge and the subjects studied at the graduation level
5- Visualisation skills and creative aptitude
6- Overall Performance (articulation, reasoning, confidence etc.)
7- Online work
Portfolio: When appearing for the interview round, aspirants need to carry their portfolio. The portfolio needs to be created in such a manner that it includes evidence/proof of media-related work as well as extra-curricular activities performed by the candidate post-school that is, at the college/university level.
The official website of AJK Mass Communication Research Centre lists the parameters on the basis of which the portfolio of candidates will be evaluated. Some media-related activities that can be included in the portfolio are mentioned below:
1- Production work (audio/visual media-based)

JMI Entrance Exam 2021 Cut-Off

The cut off for various programs at Jamia Millia Islamia is released after the results are announced. The cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. JMI 2021 cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. JMI 2021 entrance exam application forms will be available online on the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia. Candidates seeking admission at Jamia Millia Islamia University in different courses offered can fill the application form, which will only be available online.
Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the JMI 2021 entrance exam. Candidates whose results for the qualifying examinations have not been declared can also apply but the applicants are advised to submit the required certificates.

JMI Entrance Exam 2021 Counseling

The JMI 2021 counseling will begin once the JMI results have been declared . Aspiring candidates will be called for the counseling process as per their rank in the merit list. JMI may also conduct spot registration for admission from the list of selected and waitlisted candidates. In the case where there are many courses/branches, candidates will be allotted as per the preference filled in the application form.

JMI Counselling 2021 – Process

1- The list of selected candidates, as well as those in the waiting list, will be displayed on the official website.
2- Candidates will not be informed separately by post.
3- Selected candidates for interview will be displayed in ascending order of their roll number of entrance exam.
4- Additional lists of candidates selected from the waiting list will be displayed as per their merit list.
5- JMI may also conduct spot registration for admission from the list of selected and waitlisted candidates.
6- In case where there are many courses/branch, candidates will be allotted as per the preference filled in the application form.
7- For upgrading the course/branch, candidates have to fill a form at the time of admission if they wants to retain the allotted course/branch or want to upgrade.
8- Upgradation of course/branch will be done on the basis of merit.
9- The original certificates will be returned after verification.
10- Selected candidates will have to fill ‘Student Registration Form’.
11- The form can be obtained from the concerned Dean’s office/Department/Centre). They need to fill the form by giving all the details and also indicate their choice for courses.

JMI B.Tech Reservation Criteria 2021 - Overview
1- Candidates while filling the application form must apply under one reserved category only.
2- Admission under reserved categories will only be given admissions subject to eligibility conditions set up by the admission authorities.
3- The relaxation in minimum prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying examination for admission to a particular programme will be permissible only under one relaxation criteria
4- Candidates who have applied for admission under reserved category but get admission under general category will be considered under general category as well. Students must note that the candidate in this case will be given admission under one category only.

JMI B.Tech Reservation Criteria 2021 for Muslim Students
1- In each course 30% seats will be reserved for Muslim candidates.
2- Apart from the 30% seats, 10% seats in each course will be reserved for women muslim candidates.
3- Also, students belonging to “Muslim Other Backward Classes”(OBCs) and Muslim Scheduled Tribes” will be given 10% reservation in each course.

JMI B.Tech 2021 Reservation Criteria for Internal Jamia Students
Under the JMI reservation criteria 2021, candidates already studying in Jamia will be given 5% reservation in Undergraduate Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate Programmes. Students must note that students who have appeared for different exams of Jamia Millia Islamia University will not be eligible to claim reservation under this category.
14- Self-employed candidates will have to provide evidence in support of their self-employment

The JMI 2021 entrance exam results will be announced on the official website of the university. The result won't be sent to the candidate through any transport means. For each course, the result will be announced on a varied date.

Important Points related to JMI Result 2021
1- The rank list is prepared as per the scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance test for various programmes keeping in mind the rules of reservations and relaxations.
2- JMI result 2021 shall be subjected to clearance from ‘Not to be admitted list’ issued by the Proctor of the varsity.
3- The lists of provisionally selected candidates and those in the waiting list is displayed on the official website as per the notified schedule.
4- No information regarding the declaration of JMI result is sent to candidates by post.
5- The list of candidates selected for interview is displayed in ascending order of their roll numbers.
6- Jamia may display the additional lists of candidates selected for the waiting list in order of merit.

Candidates clearing the interview rounds are then be offered admission in their respective courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia University on the basis of merit. Selected candidates are required to complete their Jamia Millia Islamia Admission formalities as per the admission schedule. Candidates are required to bring their JMI admit card 2020 and attested copies of the following documents at the time of admission.

What after downloading JMI Answer Key 2020?

After downloading the answer key, candidates can calculate their score by following the marking scheme prescribed by the examination authority. Candidates should assign the marks allotted to a particular question if they have marked it correctly. If the answer happens to be incorrect, they should deduct the marks assigned for the wrong answer. The score can be calculated based on the number answers marked correctly in the exam.

Steps to challenge JMI Answer Key 2021:1- Candidates can submit their objections against JMI answer key 2021 within 48 hours after the same is published through electronic means.
2- Candidates need to pay Rs 500 for per programme to challenge the answer key.
3- No grievance will be entertained without fee payment.
