Exam notice: CTET 2017

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is an All India Level entrance examination will be organised for those aspirants who are interested to join the post of a school teacher for class I to VIII. The entrance test enables the successful candidates to join at Central Government School as KVS /NVS, Tibetian schools and other School which accept the CTET score. The CTET 2018 application form will be available in online mode. The CTET certificate is valid upto seven years. CBSE will be conducted the CTET exam twice in a year in the month of February & September. The exam consists two papers (i.e) Paper -1 & Paper-2. Paper-1 is for Class I-V teachers & Paper-2 for V-VIII teachers. Candidate may choose both papers as well. Candidate may take the CTET Exam several times for better score.

CTET 2018 eligibility criteria:

Classed I-V:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

                                                                       OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

                                                                       OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

                                                                       OR

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Classed VI-VIII:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

                                                          OR

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education.

                                                          OR

  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

                                                          OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in                 final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

                                                                      OR 

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

                                                         OR

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
  • Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum educational qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/differently abled.

Exam pattern:

Paper I (primary stage):  Candidates who wants to be a teacher for classes I to V must take paper 1. Duration of paper – I will be 2 ½ hours. The paper consists of 150 questions which are divided equally into five sections.

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Language I (compulsory): 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Language II (compulsory): 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Mathematics: 30 questions (30 Marks)

§  Environmental Studies: 30 questions (30 Marks)

Paper II (elementary stage): Candidates who wants to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII must take paper II. Duration of paper – II will be 2 ½ hours. The paper consists of 150 questions and would test applicants in 4 sections.

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) : 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Language I (compulsory) : 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Language II (compulsory) : 30 questions (30 Marks)
  • Mathematics and Science: 60 questions (60 Marks) – (For Mathematics and Science teacher)
