Registration open with late fee till 11th Dec for XAT 2017

The application process for XAT 2017 will be end on 11th December, 2016 with late fee. XAT score is considered for admission by more than 150 B-Schools.

XAT 2017 would be organised on January 08, 2017, by the XLRI Jamshedpur on the behalf of Xavier Associate Management Institutes (XAMI).

The Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur has published the exam date for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2017 on its official website. The exam is scheduled to be held on January 8, 2017. The exam will be held by the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur on behalf of the XAMI to select the most suitable students for management education.

For the first time, the institute will be holding the exam on the second Sunday instead of the first Sunday of the year. Apart from XLRI, the XAT scores are accepted by around 140 B-schools across India. Last year, XAT has undergone changes in terms of exam pattern.

Changes introduced last year:

  • The total number of questions in the main paper were brought down to 78
  • The time allotted was increased by 20 minutes
  • In XAT 2016, students had a choice of not attempting 13 questions
  • The number of questions in the GK section was reduced to 25.

XAT is going to be conducted for taking admission in various post graduate management courses in over 100 institutes across the country for the session commencing in 2017.

Apart from XLRI, the XAT scores are accepted by around 140 B-schools across India. Last year, XAT has undergone changes in terms of exam pattern.

Exam centers:

XAT 2017 would be conducted across India in the following cities which include Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam. Aspirants from Dubai and Kathmandu can appear for the exam.

Paper Pattern for XAT 2017:

·         The test will be of 3 1/2 hours (10:00am to 1:30pm).

·         It will have four sections:

o    Quantitative Ability

o    English Language & Logical Reasoning

o    Decision Making

o    GK

o    Essay

Exam pattern:

·         XAT is a paper pencil based test divided into two papers

·         The duration of the exam is of three hours

·         Paper 1 consists of 78 questions from quantitative ability and data interpretation, verbal ability and decision making and analytical reasoning

·         Paper 2 is a mix of objective as well as subjective questions from general knowledge and essay writing questions

Selection procedure:

The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the cut-offs set by each institute. The shortlisted candidates will then be asked to appear for a group discussion, written ability test and personal interview rounds

Important Dates:

·         Last date to apply (without late fee): November 30

·         Last date to apply (with late fee): December 11

·         Availability of admit cards for download: December 20 onwards

·         Date and time of the exam: January 8 from 10 am to 1:30 pm

·         XAT 2017 Result: Last week of January, 2017
