JEE Main 2017: Registration date extended till 16th Jan 2017

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for application form of the national level engineering entrance exam ;"JEE Main 2017" till January 16, 2017 (11:59 PM). As per the revised dates, the applicantion fee for JEE Main 2017 can now be paid till January 17 (11.59 pm), 2017. Earlier, the last date for JEE Main 2017 application submission was January 2.

JEE Main 2017 will be conducted in offline mode or pen & paper based mode on April 2, while the result of the national level engineering entrance exam will be announced on April 27, 2017.

As per CBSE officials, for the academic year 2017-18, JEE Main All India Ranks will be calculated without normalized score of class 12th marks. Till 2016-17, the All India Ranks of JEE Main would be calculated with JEE Main scores and normalized marks of Class XII in the ratio 60:40. Apart from this change pertaining to JEE Main, 20,000 more candidates will be filtered for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017.

JEE Main 2017 examination is going to be held on 2nd April 2017. Joint Entrance Examination is a two tier examination conducted by CBSE Board. Paper I include total 90 OMC questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Paper II includes total 82 questions- 30 questions from Mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions from drawing test.

Mock Test has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education on 16th Dec for JEE Main 2017 for Computer Based test for aspiring candidates of the entrance test to practice.

Candidates taking JEE Main 2017 in online mode on April 8-April 9 can take the Mock Test and get the real experience of taking the actual exam. Through the sample test or Mock Test of JEE Main 2017, the applicants will also get to know the entire process of taking the online test and all the instructions before the actual test happens.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Limit: Candidate’s date of birth should fall on or after 01 October, 1992 for general candidates and 01, October 1987 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

• Candidates appearing/passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM are eligible to apply.

• Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 are not eligible to apply.

• Number of Subjects in 12th: Aspirants should have minimum five subjects in 12th/qualifying examination.

• Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only.

• Diploma (3 years) holders are also eligible to apply.
